What are the costs of buying a house on the Costa Brava?
For a resale home, 10% of the sale price in ITP (transfer tax, with some exceptions), plus roughly 1.2% of the price for the notary and registration at the Land Registry.
Can I buy if I’m not resident in Spain?
Yes. All you need is an NIE (foreigner’s identification number), which takes a few weeks to obtain, and an account with a Spanish bank. We help you with both and, if you need it, with a non-resident mortgage and with signing by power of attorney from your own country.
How long does it take to complete a purchase?
Once the offer is accepted, the deposit contract is usually signed within one or two weeks and the deed within one or two months. With a mortgage, it can take longer. We also do what we can to speed the process up.
