Buying a house on the Costa Brava

There’s always a house for everyone. The choice is very wide: from villas with sea views to village houses and farmhouses, among others.

Before you buy the house, we make sure the habitation certificate (cédula de habitabilidad) is up to date, confirm that it is free of charges and encumbrances, and cross-check the Land Registry against the Cadastre: absolutely everything. Then we go through it all with you before you make an offer, and we go with you to the notary.

Frequently asked questions about houses for sale

Where is it easiest to find a house with a garden near the sea?

On the residential estates of Begur, Calella de Palafrugell, Pals, Calonge and Santa Cristina d’Aro, a few minutes from the beach. On request, we can look for a seafront house for you. Ask us and we’ll tell you where.

What’s the difference between a house and a villa?

A villa usually means a detached house on its own plot; "house" also covers village houses, terraced houses and semi-detached houses. You’ll find all of them in this section.

Can I buy a house to let out in the summer?

Yes. Some houses and apartments have a tourist licence. We find out which ones can be let, and what kind of letting is possible for each property.

What does it cost to run a house on the Costa Brava?

IBI (the local property tax), the refuse collection charge, insurance and, if there is one, the estate’s community fees, plus upkeep of the garden and pool. We give you the figures for each house before you buy it.
